ARLIS/ANZ ACT Chapter AGM Thursday 3 November 2011.

Dear All,

The ARLIS/ANZ ACT Chapter 2011 AGM and planning meeting will be held Thursday, 3rd November, 1.30pm - 3 pm at the National Gallery of Australia, Gandel Hall.

Come along and help us plan our events for 2012.

Lunch will be provided so please RSVP to vicki.marsh@nga.gov.au by Wednesday 26th October and include any dietary requirements.

QUT Kelvin Grove Library tour

Last Tuesday, 28th June, a group of librarians from the QLD chapter enjoyed a tour of the newly refurbished Library at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Kelvin Grove.

The exhibition has closed but you can still see two Artists' Books ...

We produced two stop motion animations to allow the two large format books to be viewed without frequent handling.
These animations were a great addition to the show - they played in the foyer outside Projectspace.

You can view these animations - send us your feedback.
We plan to add these to the catalogue record for the artists' books with a view to documenting a range of books to assist with the request process / and the retrieval process.

Artists' Books on Show in Auckland - 31 March - 9 April 2011

66 works from the Fine Arts Library collection will be exhibited at Projectspace B431 - a gallery within the Elam School of Fine Arts. For two weeks visitors will be able to view and handle the wide variety of books. Many were produced by Elam students in the course of their degree programme.

Darwin Conference

The latest ARLIS/ANZ conference was wonderful. The papers were stimulating- great to hear what colleagues are doing around Australia and across the Tasman.
I have a attached a couple of photos- one from the Tiwi trip and another from the final night harbour cruise which some of us late departures went on.
