Meeting 1/11 held at the NGV on Thursday 8 September 2011

Our November meeting was held at the Australian Academy of Design in Port Melbourne. Many thanks to Helen Boyd who hosted the meeting, provided a delicious afternoon tea and arranged for a tour of the exhibition in the Clement Meadmore Gallery - Zeitgeist Becomes Form: German Fashion Photography 1945-1995. It was a fantastic exhibition made more interesting by a floor talk from the gallery director Malcolm Thomson. Meeting 02/10 was held on 18 August 2010 at Monash University Library, Caulfield

The first meeting of the ARLIS/ANZ Victorian Chapter for 2010 was held on Thursday June 10 at RMIT. The focus of the meeting was to begin planning for the 2012 ARLIS/ANZ conference to be held in Melbourne. Discussion also focussed on filling positions for the national executive which will move to Melbourne following the Darwin conference.

Many thanks to Georgina and staff of the Lenton-Parr Library, University of Melbourne, Southbank Campus, for the very enjoyable afternoon spent last Friday, August 21.

Fourteen members of the ARLIS/ANZ Victorian chapter met, lunched and toured the Lenton-Parr Library. We also visited the Margaret Lawrence Gallery, viewed the current exhibition: "Material Ligero: Five Chilean Artists Travelling Light: and enjoyed a talk by Gallery manager, Meredith Turnbull. http://www.vca.unimelb.edu.au/currentexhib

An added bonus was a tour of the VCA student painting, sculpture and photography studios. For the VCA alumni members of our party, this was a trip down memory lane.
