ARLIS/ANZ invites you to submit an abstract for a presentation responding to the conference title "Cultural Connections: MySpace is an ArtSpace”.

• Artist's books and collections

• Social networking technologies in arts librarianship
• Stories from our cousins: music libraries, performing arts libraries etc
• Stories from our clients: students, academics, public, curators, researchers, artists
• Public libraries as creative places
• Arts workforce circa 2008 - who are they and where are they?
• Indigenous perspectives and arts libraries
• Youtube culture - Web 2 and arts libraries
• Community engagement – are art libraries just for artists?


Please submit abstracts in an electronic format and include the following information:

• Title of paper
• Author/s of the paper
• Abstract or summary of the paper (500-800 words. Abstracts accepted to the conference will be published to the website prior to the conference, with the full version published in the Arlis/ANZ journal).
• Speaker's name, address, professional affiliation, email address, biographical note (40 words)


When: Thurs/Fri, 9th & 10th October, 2008 (plus an optional Saturday morning social event on the 11th)
Where: Queensland State Library, South Bank, Brisbane. Queensland

Friday 30 May 2008: Deadline for submission of abstracts
Friday 20 June 2008: Notification of acceptance to present
31 June 2008: Earlybird registrations close
Friday 31 October 2008: Deadline for submission of the paper/presentation for ARLIS/ANZ journal
