The exhibition has closed but you can still see two Artists' Books ...

We produced two stop motion animations to allow the two large format books to be viewed without frequent handling.
These animations were a great addition to the show - they played in the foyer outside Projectspace.

You can view these animations - send us your feedback.
We plan to add these to the catalogue record for the artists' books with a view to documenting a range of books to assist with the request process / and the retrieval process.

Artists' Books on Show in Auckland - 31 March - 9 April 2011

66 works from the Fine Arts Library collection will be exhibited at Projectspace B431 - a gallery within the Elam School of Fine Arts. For two weeks visitors will be able to view and handle the wide variety of books. Many were produced by Elam students in the course of their degree programme.

Great news re Joye Volker

... some of the Auckland chapter of ARLIS NZ met for coffee today and agreed that Joye will be an excellent President and conference advocate - she has our warm good wishes from her friends in Auckland. Jane (and Catherine and Caroline and Tom)

The Medieval Imagination - the exhibition, the conference and the DVD

Congratulations to the State Library of Victoria for making the exhibition and the conference and related public programmes possible. It was great to be able to see manuscripts from Cambridge, Australia and NZ in one place.

I have just shared the DVD about the making of the exhibition with library staff at Auckland. They were impressed with the MSS and inspired by the professionalism and dedication of the staff involved in making these rare MSS available to view.

The Medieval Imagination - conference next week

I'll be in Melbourne next week for the conference at exhibition at the State Library of Victoria - keen to know if any other ARLIS members are attending. I'll look out for you.
